Who would you love to share a Smooth Ambler Spirit with?

Someone who’s quick with a joke or to light up your smoke.

Drinking Wisdom?

“Happiness is having a rare steak, a bottle of whiskey, and a dog to eat the rare steak.” – Johnny Carson

Favorite Music?

I inherited a lot of my father’s love for all things classic rock. The Smooth Mobile SiriusXM is always set to Classic Rewind.

Most Memorable Drinking Experience?

My grandmother wasn’t a big drinker, but she really enjoyed amaretto after dinner. Just one finger high and one cube. I was too young to drink with her, but I’ll always remember the way she’d hold her glass, swirl it and savor. I remember thinking that experience was something special. I wish I could share a glass with her today.

What is one drink that everyone should try?

Greenbrier Gin with a good crisp tonic, with a dash of dry vermouth on the rocks with a fresh lemon peel twist. Nothing beats that on a hot summer day – or year round.

Valerie was lured to the dark side by the charms of the distillery, joining the Smooth Ambler family in 2014.

Hailing from Brooklyn New York, this born and bred Giants fan now calls West Virginia home with her rescue dogs. She says, “Being able to be a part of something that highlights the natural beauty and abundance of West Virginia in a positive way is important to me. ”

When not slinging hooch in the tasting room or educating the masses on the finer points of continuous column distillation, you’ll find her on the river with her favorite fishing partner. She says, “Our visitors bring so much excitement to the tasting room. We have ‘Super Dramblers’ who helped at bottling parties in the early years, have a batch #1 or are at every Gift Shop release. There’s a unique pride in the extreme fandom they express in us and our success. I’m proud to be a part of the story.”
