Position Title: Operations Manager – Smooth Ambler Spirits (SAS)
Location: Maxwelton, WV
Position Summary:Responsible for managing every activity of the entire Production Operation, including Production, Storage, and Processing, as defined by the TTB, and the corresponding staff. Will ensure quality production in a safe and efficient manner and be able to track financial and production objectives. Manager current production staff and assist in new hires. Oversee grain operations, fermentation, distillation, filling, blending, bottling, and shipping to ensure their quality and TTB compliance to exacting standards. Will ensure facility up-grades are implemented and that new and existing production practices are performed as desired. Monitor plant maintenance and develop a schedule as needed. Tasked with managing plant schedule, including staffing, and plant shutdowns for maintenance. Focus on customer service, a friendly and hardworking workplace, and safe operations are essential.
Personnel Management (Effectiveness): approximate amount of time spent, 40%
Provide direction and leadership for existing salaried and hourly employees (8) and new hires (approximately 8 more).
Develop department culture that fosters teamwork, fast pace, training, effective communication, accountability, and high individual performance
Production Performance: approximate amount of time spent, 30%
Encourage safe and efficient production while focusing on world class quality manufacturing.
Participate in research and technical decisions regarding new equipment purchases and quality capabilities with current plant and during expansions.
Utilize existing production practices and implement new practices to ensure employees are safe and efficient while focusing on exacting quality standards. Monitor and record production in compliance with state and federal regulations and to insure performance and quality are at expected levels
Budgetary Performance: approximate amount of time spent, 10%
Participate in improvement of existing production practices. Implement new practices and review wats to improve short range and long term capital goals. Focus on production performance, cost reduction and quality production.
Monthly review actual costs to identify critical cost drivers and implement control procedures.
Enhance and encourage employee involvement in daily production processes by listening, educating and quantifying their ideas for improvement.
Special Projects: approximate amount of time spent, 10%
Support new product initiatives as developed. Ensure all required resources are addressed and obtained to ensure successful product launches.
Ensure production employees are equipped with appropriate equipment training, quality standards and customer guidelines as required.

Achieve key legislative and technical standards
Production Manager: Interaction will be to manage all milling, mashing, fermentation, and distillation
Processing Manager: Manage barrel dumping, blending, filtering, bottling, and shipping Bottling Room
Operators and Production Staff: Ensure all operational procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently.
CEO – communicate daily activities and report as needed to ensure operational and financial goals are met.
Industrial Engineer/Chemical Engineer, or related field, or equivalent experience, required. MBA a plus.
A minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in various leadership roles and responsibilities are required for this position.
